Jumpcut Academy Review. Is it a Scam? 2 Alternatives.

Long ago, I discovered Jumpcut Academy (Currently 2.0). I wanted to review it then, but didn’t have enough info. I do now, and I’ll tell you if it’s worth your money or if it’s a scam.

The above image is a screenshot from their site (here). But let’s get to the main question:

So is Jumpcut Academy worth your money?

It depends, and that is because what it teaches is pretty expensive to learn (I’ll get into details) and it may not be preferable for everyone.

While Jumpcut Academy 2.0 is NOT a scam, I want to offer people interested in it two alternative programs, one where you can learn pretty much the same stuff, but not pay as much and a second program for people who may not be comfortable showing themselves on YouTube, but still want a good way to make an online business.

I’ll get into those shortly, but first…

Let me give you my experience with Jumpcut Academy 2.0:

I discovered this place from watching Jessie and Kong’s YouTube channel.

They cover topics like dating, pickup, business and so on and their videos have indeed gone viral, to the point that these guys now have over 2 million subscribers (clearly they’re doing it right).

Here’s some examples (screenshot from their site):

They know how to create and grow a YouTube channel and make money off it and that is what their program is teaching you to do. In short, they teach you to become an “influencer”, aka someone like them in that you learn to create your own brand.

Now I entered Jumpcut Academy and signed up for their newsletter. Eventually this newsletter, their sales pitch and countdowns led me to find out their program costs $997 with monthly charges and it was a bit much for me to spend money on, especially considering I had already been a member of 2 other programs where I felt I had more than enough info to do the same stuff this place would teach me.

And also, I don’t really buy high ticket training programs like this because the other 2 programs I mentioned already teach me the valuable info I don’t need to pay so much extra for.

And thus I want to point out that I did not invest in Jessie and Kong’s program, just so we’re clear, but never the less, I did see enough (and know enough because I somewhat do what they do) to give a pretty decent review of their program.

I did not rate this program as a result, but the alternative programs I recommend, I did check out, I am a member off, so I can offer a rating there (and they are both very high and recommended).

What I think of Jessie and Kong’s program:

I think Jessie and Kong are marketing geniuses.

They have basically figured out a way to capitalize on creating viral YouTube videos. Being a marketer myself, I can appreciate how they go about it. And I have some of my own case studies on YouTube success, one of which is this YouTube tutorial.

They basically started off targeting the dating niche for guys and helping them out and since this is a big, viral topic on YouTube, naturally their videos (because they are fully of good content) became more popular.

While I have no doubt in that these guys provide awesome training, I really believe it may not be for everyone, and allow me to explain why:

Reason 1: Are you truly ready to be a YouTube influencer?

You may say yes, but it’s not an easy task, you are growing a brand and video channel from scratch and while their training, I’m sure is good, it will take time.

Are you comfortable with showing your face and potentially doing embarrassing stuff? Because you have to know that it’ll likely require that. I’ve done YouTube videos and very few of them had gotten many views. But I still made good money with YouTube.

But here is that same free YouTube tutorial again which shows you the best tips I have found which work for getting views.

Granted, this was before I learned how it’s supposed to be done from one of the two programs I’ll recommend, but still, I’m not exactly comfortable doing these.

But that’s what you’ll have to do if you undertake this program and there’s a lot of people in this market.

Reason 2: The price is pretty big.

Let me be clear, I am NOT discounting the value of Jessie and Kong’s program and I firmly believe you get your money’s worth with it, but one thing I know about building businesses (and I do pretty well as I’ll show you) is that no matter how good the training is in a program, there’s never a guarantee that you’ll make it work, it also depends a lot on the person and what they are doing.

My argument here is that if you can’t risk or LOSE $997 and a few more hundred bucks in monthly costs, I wouldn’t do this program.

Remember these guys are good at marketing, so it’s easy to believe that investing in their program is going to get you success, and it just might, but believe me, starting an online business is not a guarantee, there ARE huge chances it may not work out.

Ok, here’s alternative 1: Market Hero.

Ever heard of Alex Becker? If not, he’s a popular internet marketing icon who runs this program, Market Hero where he teaches ways to grow an online business, one of which is through YouTube, and that involves doing it via free and paid ways.

For example, he teaches you how to create viral YouTube videos by simply doing response videos on popular, trending topics. In fact, his YouTube channel has over 300,000 subscribers and he gives a lot of this info out for free, so right there, you have 1 alternative where the investment risk is $0.

While he does give good tips, the crown jewel and the real deal training though lies in his Market Hero program, of which I am a member off and pay monthly for. The cost is $49 a month and I’m a pretty happy member.

I’m not much into YouTube yet, but I am focusing on efforts to market through it via paid ads and in addition to do Facebook Advertising, which he also teaches.

Point being is that overall, when I see Jessie and Kong talk about being influencers on YouTube and how they’ll teach you to do that, I already know a big part of that is what Alex Becker already teaches and I feel your money is better spent there.

Note: After a number of months of using this program, I decided to say no to it finally and the review above explains the reasons.

Alternative 2: Wealthy Affiliate.

I have more experience and success with this program than any other. This program is a bit more for people who are shy about making YouTube videos, but still want to grow an online business.

This place HAS training in making YouTube videos, but it’s more centered around blogging, eCommerce and marketing on social networks and search engines.

So your work would be to grow a business through writing content, vs making visual content on YouTube. Is this a profitable venture? Well look at my results with it:

Blogging is and will be a huge industry on the internet so if you are shy or don’t really see yourself making YouTube videos, this is where I’d go.

The beautiful thing is, it’s free to try and there’s also a $49 a month upgrade, like with Market Hero, but because it’s free to start with, you can see for yourself if the training suites what you’d like to do to grow an online business.

The facts about both alternatives:

  • They are cheaper than Jumpcut Academy 2.0.
  • There is less risk in investing in these places.
  • Both places have great training that works to create a business.

I’m not saying anything bad about Jumpcut Academy 2.0, but before you join, do consider the price and the risks and know that the 2 alternatives are there.
