Is Google Sniper a Scam? How it Might Snipe Your Rankings!

google sniper reviewGoogle Sniper was a popular online marketing system a few years back. Then came out which for the most part is the same thing.

But regardless, is it a scam? The answer is no, but this is not a system I’d recommend using for a number of very important reasons as you’re about to find out.

Google Sniper in a nutshell:

You learn to promote products from Clickbank via making websites and finding low competition keywords. There it is.

The idea behind this “formula” is that by finding low competition keywords, you can make websites, write articles which rank high for those keywords, get a lot of visitors and sell the products, thus where the money making process comes into play.

Unfortunately many of the tactics recommended by this product’s creator, George Brown are not longer viable for SEO because there’s black hat elements to them and that can actually end up getting your website Google slapped. I’ll be getting into that in a moment.

You can join it for $1 for 7 days, then pay $67 every month after that.

You are also offered a product called the Predator which is basically the “next best thing” to Google Sniper. Basically an additional way to get you to spend more money.

How Google Sniper Works:

The main emphasis of this product is utilizing a organization called Clickbank, a popular online marketing store where affiliates can promote from 1,000’s of products. These products are mostly digital and range from how to guides on just about anything you can think of: Relationships, fixing computers, health & fitness advice, ect…

Within the members area of this product, you get 8 videos and a long PDF explaining how the system of Google Sniper works. But here you’re getting a much shorter summary 🙂

You learn to find products that pay high in commissions and promote them finding low competition keywords. In addition you can also promote the same Google Sniper product which happens to be a Clickbank product, though I’m not going to be doing that here because I just don’t believe in it.

Then you create websites/blogs/articles which target the same low competition keywords. The idea behind this is by utilizing some “tricks” or as this product calls it “Sniping”. For example:

Some article directories & blog sites have prestige with Google and rank well, meaning you can easily make a page/article and have it appear on the first page.

Note: This no longer works.

Additionally you also learn to “ping” and use social bookmarks on your blogs/articles to get Google crawling your page and indexing it higher/faster.

So here’s the summary:

  • Find a Clickbank product.
  • Find low competition keyword for the product you want to promote.
  • Make a website/article/blog targeting those keywords.
  • Use tactics such as pinging and social bookmarking to help your site/article/blog rank higher.
  • Rank high, receive a lot of traffic and make money.

There you have it. This is how Google Sniper works.

Time to explain why Google Sniper’s strategy is not a good idea.

Let us dissect each part of the Google Sniper formula.

1) Promoting Clickbank products.

There are A LOT of shady and even “scammy” products on Clickbank which have a high refund percentage. I personally promote a couple of things there which are legit, but what I consider to be high quality products that people will like.

Unfortunately Google Sniper’s method is basically to promote everything and anything to make money. You can technically make this work, but odds are you’ll likely be selling a lot of trash products and maybe having a high refund issue.

I don’t really find fault with Google Sniper here. You just have to be intelligent in knowing what to promote on Clickbank so that it’s legitimate to your customers.

2) Find low competition keywords for the products you’ll be promoting.

Yes this still works. Unfortunately in Google Sniper’s case, it’s outdated because it uses Google’s keyword tool (which has changed and only works through Adwords). Also the keyword metrics you get there are in regards to PPC, not SEO. Needless to say, you can’t really use this tool to get an accurate representation of your keyword competition. Here is my preferred keyword tool Jaaxy.

3) Make a website/article/blog which will target your chosen keywords.

Some of this still works, but nowhere near as good as it used to be. Making a website is really the only thing you can do and it will take time for it to rise in the ranks. As for articles/blogs which I mentioned earlier have prestige?

Well that’s a bad form of SEO because its based on the idea that you can write articles on article directories, link them back to your website and speed up your website’s ranking. After 2009, this became useless.

Prior to 2009, article directories and certain blog sites had a lot of prestige with Google, but no longer. Now many of these places are MUCH more strict on what you can write/promote and further more, Google doesn’t like it when it sees this form of backlinking. Learn what really works to make a profitable online business.

4) Use tactics such as Pinging & social bookmarking.

Yeah sorry, this worked years ago. Now it’s basically a form of telling Google in a spam fashion “Hey look at my site! Rank it high! Come on!”. No it doesn’t work anymore. Pinging Google directly only really works if you do it through a program called Webmaster Tools.

With all these issues added to the equation, Google Sniper is basically outdated and useless. The only thing that still makes sense is building a website and targeting low competition keywords, but you need updated training for that. Get it from Wealthy Affiliate

Pros:

  • Pretty good quality videos.
  • Endorses targeting low competition keywords.

Cons:

  • The odds of making money with this program is very little.
  • Outdated methods that no longer work and can hurt your site.
  • No point in paying $67 monthly for training that doesn’t update.

Final Rating: Google Sniper:

2 stars

Red Flag

2 out of 10 stars. Very little benefit. Most tactics in Google Sniper are outdated or useless. Not recommended. This program called Wealthy Affiliate teaches updated methods to succeed.

Final Thoughts: Is there really any reason to try this product?

I don’t really see any reason you’d want to buy this product if you’re serious about making money online. It’s methods just don’t work anymore for the most part.

Yes there’s still some information that’s useful, but for the most part, you really can’t do anything with it.  And even if you did try the $1 trial, there’s really no point in being there because the information isn’t updated.

Don’t let hype about making crazy money have you whipping out your credit card. Though it’s possible to do, there is NO such thing as a get rich quick scheme in online marketing. It takes hard work, effort and proper guidance to make it happen.

If you’re serious about doing this, start here with Wealthy Affiliate. It’s the only place I recommended to learn legitimate ways to succeed in this business and make a REALLY good income (which I provide reports on, see them there).

  1. Pinging, backlinking, using the Google Keyword tool and creating product centric websites focusing on low grade CB products (like Google Sniper itself)

Can you say 2010 techniques…bundled up, rehashed and redelivered in 2013/2014…

If you want to create an honest business and one that has some longevity this should absolutely not be your approach. You should be taking a niche that you are interested in and building a proper business.

    How?

By focusing on HELPING people in that niche (through your content). It is easier than it sounds and if you get your hands on some 2014 ready training like that of WA, you are going to be much further ahead in the short and long run.

I am sure this review is going to save a lot of people from spending money on something that simply won’t work in 2014.
