Happy 2018 everyone! I want to start the year by giving you some good tools you can utilize on your website/s to get your SEO game going strong and succeeding this year!
The funny thing is, SEO itself hasn’t changed much. The same tips I’d give you in 2017, are actually 100% applicable today and even more so: More important in 2018 than before. Some of them are free, others are cheap but overall, you will need to have one or more of them and work on your site this year to make it grow…
1) An optimal keyword program. Jaaxy is your answer.
There is no content creation that ever starts for me personally without a keyword in mind. But finding that right keyword is made easier with this resource.
As I said to someone who asked me how I go about this whole keyword thing, here are was my answer and I promise this answer will help you:
Using that type of mindset, this very post I am writing was done so with a keyword in mind that gets a little over 200 searches monthly. And I only knew about that and figured this keyword was worth writing about thanks to Jaaxy.
Keyword tools are plentiful in the SEO world, but the goal is to continually expand your content base on your site through them.
So what I will be doing, and what I recommend you do too is…
Find keyword after keyword though Jaaxy. Write individual articles on all of them you find. Expand your site’s content base this year and expand it as much as you can! Here’s info on Jaaxy.
2) and 3) Get your site registered with Webmaster tools and Google analytics.
An absolute must. Both of these programs are free and both of them are excellent for helping you break down and understand how your SEO is panning out. Here is a recent guide I did on understanding how to “read” Google analytics info if you’re a beginner.
As for webmaster tools, here’s what you need to know and immediately install!
I’m telling you, no matter how many websites I make, if their goal is SEO related, these 2 programs are mandatory.
4) SSL (Having a secure website).
One may not classify this part as an actual tool, but I certainly do and there’s good reason:
For SEO purposes, an SSL site gets more favor from Google than ever before. This type of trend started in 2015 I believe and has only grown since.
People like the feeling of security and if they land on a site that has a green padlock (an indication it’s safe to visit), they are more likely to stay and trust your page.
I have my own guesses on this, but one of them is that this will become an unmentionable mandate if any page wishes to get higher rankings. While JUST having SSL will not make a huge impact on your rankings, it’s inclusion with other ranking factors on your site will.
Now the question is where can you get this padlock on your site? Well domain registrars handle this stuff, but for a generally big price. I use SSL via this option and I love it because it offers me that security use for all of my websites, and it’s all included at a flat fee.
Usually domain registrars which sell this option, do it individually and that’s unfortunate and costly…
5) One resource to help you succeed in SEO no matter what year it is…
That is without question Wealthy Affiliate. I find that as this world of ranking websites advances, there’s a “blow back” from black hat and old organizations and people who give out the wrong info on SEO and through their dirty tactics attract a wide audience interested in this stuff and end up teaching them wrong things that lead to their website’s demise.
Having a resource like Wealthy Affiliate show you the RIGHT way to succeed in this industry is frankly…priceless.
What’s more, it’s that if you seek to have the other resources I listed above handled for you, Wealthy Affiliate does it all:
-Want the keyword program Jaaxy included? If you join Wealthy Affiliate, you get access to it.
-Want Google Analytics and Webmaster tools? There’s easy tutorials on WA to help you install it quickly.
-Want SSL? All websites hosted on Wealthy Affiliate have that feature included for free (if you join premium) and all it literally takes is pushing one little button and you’re safe.
And that’s just a few of the plethora of benefits of that place…
My final thoughts:
I find that as I move deeper and deeper into the world of SEO, the most important things to be able to succeed in it will be the right knowledge in succeeding it and actually working for it.
As great as these above resources are and they WILL help your site, the fact is, you have to install them, you have to use them and you have to work to get all of this done in 2018 and onward.
There are no automated programs that will create content for you (they’re only the black hat sort and will fail), you need to do that on your own. Having these awesome things above at your disposal helps you avoid those annoying pitfalls and distractions that many people entering the SEO world enter and there’s piranhas everywhere spreading that misinformation I was talking about.
Remember (I will say this again), your most important goal in 2018, to grow your site is to grow it’s content and if you use Jaaxy to find the best keywords to do this, if you use Google webmaster tools and Google analytics to see how the progress is going and where you’re being ranked, if you get SSL for that extra safety precaution and boost in SEO and above all if you use all of that knowledge Wealthy Affiliate gives you, 2018 will be a terrific year for you.
I know exactly what I’m going to be doing and that is following the training in Wealthy Affiliate and they taught me to use these resources to help my business grow.
I’ve gotten over 300,000 visits last year to my site. This year, I want to break 500,000! These resources helped me up my SEO game and they will also help you with yours.
